Self-consumption grants in the Balearic Islands
Private individuals, businesses, communities and public bodies may qualify for solar PV, batteries, heat pumps and private EV charging grants. The funding rate depends on the programme and beneficiary type.
Applications are scheduled to close on 28 February 2027, or earlier if the budget is exhausted. A complete application determines your place in the queue.

What is covered
Four programmes with different rules
Each programme has its own technical limits, funding rates and requirements. The figures below summarise the official resolution and do not replace an individual application review.

Programme 1
Self-consumption photovoltaic installations
New installations and extensions, whether grid-connected or off-grid, for eligible businesses, communities and public bodies.

- Up to 500 kWp
- Funding
- 40% to 70% of eligible costs
- Key condition
- Energy monitoring is mandatory and the installation must not require a transformer

Programme 2
Renewable thermal installations
New aerothermal heat pumps for heating, cooling, domestic hot water or a combination, including eligible distribution systems.

- SPF above 2.5
- Funding
- 40% to 70% of eligible costs
- Key condition
- Maximum of €25,000 for natural persons and €100,000 for other beneficiaries

Programme 3
Storage for self-consumption
New batteries and extensions to existing systems linked to electrical self-consumption.

- Up to 200 kWh eligible
- Funding
- 30% to 45% of eligible costs
- Key condition
- Minimum five-year warranty; lead-acid batteries are not eligible

Programme 4
Private electric vehicle charging
New private-access charging infrastructure for homes, businesses and other eligible beneficiaries.

- Up to 15 kW
- Funding
- 20% to 70% of eligible costs
- Key condition
- General cap of €12,000; €2,500 for private individuals without economic activity

The rate applies to the cost recognised as eligible by the authority, which may be lower than the total installation price.

De minimis and no State aid use the same rates but are different legal classifications. The applicable category must be checked for each application.
Essential conditions
What to check before starting
Eligible start dates, permits and documents depend on the beneficiary and State-aid regime. Acting too early can make part of the investment ineligible.
Before contracting
- Confirm the beneficiary category and applicable State-aid regime.
- Check whether work may have started from 1 January 2026 or only after submitting the application.
- Include every programme at the same site in one application.
- Obtain the required supplier quotes before making commitments.
Potentially eligible costs
- Equipment, materials, installation and monitoring systems.
- Design, technical reports, project management and health and safety coordination.
- Necessary civil works directly linked to the project.
- VAT only when it cannot be recovered and all conditions in the call are met.
Costs that are not covered
- Managing the grant application or payment justification.
- Leasing or rentals where the beneficiary does not own the equipment.
- Licences, fees, fines, insurance and financing costs.
- The applicant's own staffing, operating or promotional costs.
How it works
From project to payment
The grant is not paid when the installation is ordered. The application comes first, followed by installation and justification, before the authority reviews payment.

We prepare the technical and commercial proposal needed to describe the installation.

Online application
The beneficiary submits the file through the specific Balearic Government procedure.

Installation and registration
The system is installed within the award deadline and the corresponding permits are registered.

The final report, invoices, payment evidence and other required records are submitted.

Frequently asked questions
Direct answers about the grant call
Which projects are covered by the 2026-2027 Balearic energy grants?
The call covers self-consumption solar PV, aerothermal heat pumps, batteries linked to self-consumption and private electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Can a private homeowner apply for the solar panel grant?
No. Natural persons, including sole traders applying as a natural person, are excluded from the photovoltaic programme. They may qualify for heat pumps, batteries and charging if they meet the requirements.
Can an owners' community apply for the photovoltaic grant?
Yes. Owners' communities and energy communities are listed as eligible photovoltaic beneficiaries, subject to the general and technical conditions.
Does the grant cover 70% of the full invoice?
Not necessarily. The maximum rate applies to the costs recognised as eligible under the call's modules and caps. It does not automatically equal 70% of the complete project budget.
What is the application deadline?
The planned deadline is 28 February 2027. New awards may be suspended earlier if the available budget is exhausted.
How is the submission order determined?
The complete file's electronic registry date sets the order. If the authority requests missing documents, the correction date becomes the relevant date for resolution order.
Can work begin before the application is submitted?
It depends on the beneficiary and State-aid regime. Some projects may have started from 1 January 2026, while others are eligible only from the application date. Check the case before making commitments.
When is the grant paid?
Payment follows project completion, cost justification and the authority's review. The call does not provide immediate payment when an application is submitted.
Does VATSOLAR submit the grant application?
