For energy efficiency improvement works on your home. It requires an energy certificate before and after the installation; we prepare both.

What everyone asks in Menorca
How much does a solar panel installation cost in Menorca?
The VATSOLAR 2026 price list is the same across the Balearics: from €4,950 for 3 kWp to €16,500 for 15 kWp, turnkey and excluding VAT. Most homes in Menorca land between 5 and 7 kWp, which means between €7,500 and €9,800. The online configurator gives you the figure for your case instantly.
What incentives exist in Menorca for solar panels in 2026?
The same as in the rest of the Balearics: a 60% IRPF income tax deduction, an IBI rebate of up to 50% depending on the municipality, an ICIO rebate of up to 95% and a battery grant under the 2026-2027 Balearic scheme. The direct solar grant is reserved for companies and owner communities.
How much energy does solar produce in Menorca?
A well-oriented system in Menorca produces between 1,450 and 1,600 kWh per year for each installed kWp, according to PVGIS. Irradiation is practically the same as Mallorca, and the wind keeps the modules cooler in summer, when they produce the most.
Can the panels withstand the tramuntana wind?
Yes. The structure and anchors are sized for the wind load of each roof, and in Menorca we pay particular attention to it because of the tramuntana. During the technical visit we check the fixing your roof needs before the quote is fixed.
How long do installation and registration take?
Mounting a typical home system takes one or two days. Legal registration and the surplus compensation sign-up depend on the grid operator and usually take a few more weeks; we handle that process from start to finish.
Do I need planning permission in Menorca?
In most cases a prior notification or responsible declaration is enough for an existing roof. Menorca is a Biosphere Reserve and some historic centres and rural land carry extra protections; we check with your town hall before touching anything.
Does it work for a second home?
Yes, and it is one of the most common cases in Menorca. We manage the installation and registration while you are away, and surplus compensation reduces the bill in the months the house sits empty. We communicate in English or German throughout.
Can I add a battery to the system?
Yes. The home battery is sized to the system power, with capacities from 7 to 21 kWh, and the Balearic scheme subsidises it by up to 45% for private homeowners too. In the configurator you can add or remove it and see the price both ways.
