What everyone asks in Mallorca
How much does a solar panel installation cost in Mallorca?
With the VATSOLAR 2026 price list, a turnkey home installation runs from €4,950 for 3 kWp to €16,500 for 15 kWp, excluding VAT. Most detached homes in Mallorca land between 5 and 7 kWp, which means between €7,500 and €9,800. The online configurator gives you the figure for your case instantly.
What incentives exist in the Balearics for solar panels in 2026?
For a private home: a 60% IRPF income tax deduction, an IBI property tax rebate of up to 50% depending on the municipality, an ICIO works levy rebate of up to 95% and a direct battery grant under the 2026-2027 Balearic scheme. The direct solar grant is reserved for companies and owner communities. VATSOLAR prepares the paperwork for all of them.
How much energy does solar produce in Mallorca?
A well-oriented system in Mallorca produces between 1,500 and 1,650 kWh per year for each installed kWp, according to PVGIS, the official European irradiation tool. A 5 kWp system generates around 7,500 to 8,000 kWh per year, more than an average home consumes.
Which company should I choose in Mallorca?
Compare three things: a fixed turnkey price, a company that registers the system and files the grant paperwork, and technicians based on the island. VATSOLAR does all three and shows you the price online before asking for any personal details.
How long do installation and registration take?
Mounting a typical home system takes one or two days. Legal registration and the surplus compensation sign-up depend on the grid operator and usually take a few more weeks; we handle that process from start to finish.
Do I need planning permission in Mallorca?
In most municipalities a prior notification or responsible declaration is enough for an existing roof. Protected rural land and listed buildings involve extra steps. We check and handle it with your town hall.
Can you handle everything if I am not on the island?
Yes. Many of our clients own second homes in Mallorca. We manage the permits, the installation and the registration while you are away, and we communicate in English or German throughout.
Can I add a battery to the system?
Yes. The home battery is sized to the system power, with capacities from 7 to 21 kWh, and the Balearic scheme subsidises it by up to 45% for private homeowners too. In the configurator you can add or remove it and see the price both ways.
